Hello everyone. The engine is an EP6, 1.6 gasoline. It misfires when it gets hot. Is the reason possibly carbon buildup on the valves? Yes, but not always. Here's a brief on how it's repaired. A cylinder head repair and everything that stems from that. Because to pull the head on an engine with 180,000-300,000 kilometers on it and not replace the piston rings, etc., would be an incomplete job. But even that won't fix the misfiring problem, or will only fix it for a short time. Therefore, you need to find a technician who can 'fix the brain' of your engine control unit (ECU). I don't know after how many misfires it happens, but it doesn't take many for the unit to go into a fault mode and cut the spark to the non-working cylinder. All of this will cost upwards of $4000.
